A Little About Mrs. Susan Rohde
1. What do you like about teaching at St. Alexander?
I think the support that is provided to the students and teachers make St. Alexander a special community. The administration and faculty have been very welcoming to me. The positive attitude of the school, as well as the mission and philosophy, provides a warm and caring learning environment.
2. Why have you chosen to teach in the Catholic Schools?
I come from a very religious family, and I attended Catholic schools myself. Catholic values have been a big part of life since childhood. As a Special Education teacher, I am thrilled to be able to provide support to children who attend a Catholic school.
3. Favorite teaching moment?
There is not just one moment. Watching a child grow and develop through the year is an amazing experience. Just knowing that I have helped a child learn something new, or succeed when they thought they could not, is a favorite moment.
4. When did you know that you wanted to be a teacher?
I worked in the business world for several years and felt unfulfilled. When I volunteered as a Religious Education teacher in my parish, I realized how much I enjoyed teaching. My passion for Special Education came about through volunteer work with special needs children. My believe is that The Lord blessed me with the gift of knowledge and compassion, so I could share with others my talents and skills.
