A Little About Mrs. Joan Osinski

1. What do you like about teaching at St. Alexander?

I have only been here for a short time but I enjoy working with the students and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I can already feel a sense of strong Christian values.

2. Why have you chosen to teach in the Catholic Schools?

I have chosen to work in Catholic Schools because I feel that a child's morals, values and Christian faith are formed at an early age and I would like to contribute what I know about my own faith and play whatever part I can in this formation.

3. Favorite teaching moment?

Being an art teacher has rewarded me with many favorite moments, but my most favorite times are when a child finishes a project and is very happy with their work , and that' s when they realize that you don't have to be an "artist" to create something wonderful, everyone has it within themselves.

4. When did you know that you wanted to be a teacher?

When I graduated from college, I thought that I might like to teach sometime in the future but I don't think I truly knew how important it was to me until my own children attended a school with no art program, and I knew how much they and their fellow classmates were missing out on. Everyone needs an outlet to explore their creative side. Art does that!
